I'm a bit obsessed with "So Many Foreign Homes". So beautiful! Can you give a little background on the inspiration for this song? Thanks!

Firstly, thank you. Secondly, Brian and I wrote these lyrics together. Throughout the album we were wrestling with the idea of finding out what home meant to us and the search for contentedness. On this particular song we were particularly looking at death as a final home. As that final journey that we all must make. Also, I received some inspiration from the “His Dark Materials” trilogy as I had just finished reading it around that time. Those thoughts together helped form the visual we had in our head. Crossing that river to reach our final homes. Everyone having their turn, waiting for their day.

About

Foreign Fields is an electronic folk group that hails from the wintry plains of Wisconsin. New Years day of last year they met in their hometown, in an abandoned office building, to begin work on their first full length LP "Anywhere But Where I Am". Having no set plan or guide, the album grew naturally as they left their lives in Chicago for hot summer days, skipping stones in the rivers of Tennessee.
